Last Saturday (14th July 2018) saw our Annual Presentation Night being held in good company and surroundings. Various winners for the competitions held in 2017-18 were progressively announced throughout the evening mixed in with good quality raffle prizes and a grand spinning wheel prize at the close of the evening. Special mention should be made of the fun filled “fishing” activity orchestrated by Kerri and Barrie at the beginning of the night and the purpose built spinning wheel made by Neil.
Fifteen competitions were held throughout the year with only four cancelled due to either bad weather or no fish being caught.
Our Junior Male Champion was Joshua with his younger brother Nate being Runner Up. Their grandfather Andrew, took out the Senior Male Champion and Club Champion while another Andrew won the Senior Male Champion Runner-Up.
Well done to our junior and senior male champions and runners up.
Sadly this year, there were no junior or senior female participants in our competitions. Let’s hope that this coming season we can improve on this.
Congratulations to all members for their various contributions to the Club throughout the past year.
The Executive look forward to another safe and successful season in 2018-19. See below for a selection of photos from the night.
Following a very warm day the Club held its 2017 Xmas Party at the Boronia RSL on the 13th December – with many laughs and good fellowship with family, friends and sponsors. The night was a great success with Santa arriving to the joy of all the kids (big and little) with lots of laughs and surprises.
Many thanks to all who made the night such a success with special thanks to Barry for the yummy meat, Chris for the great Christmas hampers and the Boronia RSL for their ongoing support and generous hospitality.
The Executive wish all sponsors, members and their families a very safe and happy Christmas and look forward to catching up again in the New Year.
After an extremely windy start to the competition on Saturday some solid fishing was had over the weekend by the 12 attending members and 5 guests of the BSFC. The inaugural BSFC/Mornington Challenge was won by Mornington with a monster black bream of 42.5cm. BSFC came very close with a 41cm bream weighing over a kilo.
Thanks again go to Rob and Chris at Bemm River Cosy Nook Accommodation for their warm welcome and hospitality.
The new Boronia Sport Fishing Club website is up and running.

And here is the 2015 Tea Tree Snapper Comp Champion, John Close with one donkey of a Snapper weighing in @ 12.7 kg. A top effort by the man who puts in the hours and the continued effort.. Congratulations on behalf of all BSFC Members.
